The TEMPLE and the LODGE - by Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh

The TEMPLE and the LODGE - by Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh (authors of 'Holy Blood, Holy Grail')

This book does not attempt to investigate allegations of conspiracy or corruption - its purpose is fully historical - its main concern is to chart and establish Freemasonry's true origins and clarify it to some extent - in the process certain issues and questions are addressed, such as, why is Freemasonry viewed with such suspicion and derision and is it compatible with Christianity?

Dissecting the myths this book is an illuminating investigation into the evolution of Freemasonry - from the disappearance of the Knights Templars to the birth of the Masonic Lodge and whether the Templars became the Masons - the authors follow Freemasonry from its medieval roots to the modern era. An excellent starting point for the general reader interested in history and this very complicated fraternal order.

Arcade Publishing 1989 Edition - 306 Page Paperback - Many b&w photos - USED in Good Condition - some wear to lower right corner of front cover - not bad - super clean and tight copy otherwise - PRICE: $10.00

LE CHANTS de MALDOROR and Poems - by Comte de Lautreamont - Decadent Sadistic Surrealistic Novel

LE CHANTS de MALDOROR:  by Le Comte de Lautreamont

Noir Humor/ Decadent/ Sadistic/ Surrealistic/ Novel

"It is not right that everyone should read the pages which follow; only a few will be able to savour this bitter fruit with impunity"

So wrote the self-styled author Comte de Lautreamont at the beginning of his sensational novel 'Chants de Maldoror' - Le Comte de Lautreamont was the pen name used by the French author Isidore Ducasse (1846-1870) and this work is one of the earliest and most astonishing examples of surrealist writing ever. The writer's mysterious life and death are no more less interesting than his infamous classic incendiary novel of 'black/noir humor'.

Lautreamont's fantasy world - part visionary dream and part nightmare - is populated with with bizarre creatures and strange people and the writing is drenched in unrestrained sadistic savagery, startling imagery and delirious menace and mayhem - it possesses a macabre, erotic, blasphemous, grandiose, hallucinatory quality quite un-like any other book...

From the Book:

"For my part, I use my genius to depict the delights of cruelty - delights which are not transitory or artificial - but which began with man and will end with him. Cannot genius be allied with cruelty in the secret resolutions of Providence ? Or can one, being cruel, not have genius ? The proof will be seen in my words. You have only to listen to me, if you wish....  Excuse me, for a moment it seemed as if my hair was standing on end - but it is nothing, for I had no trouble putting them back in place again with my hand..."

Andre Breton, Alfred Jarry, Andre Gide, Paul Verlaine and Modigliani all hailed it as a work of genius - and is said to be one of the inspirational cornerstones of Surrealism.

This volume also includes a translation of his Poesies/ Poems

The R'LYEH TEXT: Hidden Leaves From the Necronomicon - Skoob Books Esoterica

The R'LYEH TEXT: Hidden Leaves From the Necronomicon

Edited by George Hay Introduction by Colin Wilson

Skoob Books Esoterica

Occult Historian Robert Turner tells us there is a race that co-exists unseen alongside humanity - a shadowy, intense and inseparable other world. He has at last unearthed The R'Lyeh Texts which are said to complete the pungent Magickal Grimoire known as the 'Necronomicon'.

Its importance is suggested by the attention, analysis and attempted decipherment by many great thinkers like Colin Wilson and this books editor George Hay.

Colin Wilson links the 'Old Ones', the Sirius Star System, Atlantis, 'Crystal Memory' and Sexual Violence with the dark labyrinth of the 'Necronomicon' - and George Hay relates the Grimoire's influence on the irrational behavior in today's modern societies, and also suggests it is the religious enigma of the great 'Fall' - Researched, transcribed and annotated by Robert Turner - Edited by George Hay - With an Introduction by Colin Wilson..

These are hidden leaves from the 'Necronomicon'.
